Application Engineer – Power Generation

Location : Tulsa, OK

Job Summary

System One is partnering with our client to search for an Application Engineer in Power Generation. This position plays a pivotal role in designing and optimizing power generation solutions, with a focus on both electrical and mechanical systems and innovative power generation technologies. Whether working with gaseous-fired engines or diesel engines, your expertise will help shape efficient and reliable power generation systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and engineer advanced natural gas engine generator systems, focusing on both mechanical and electrical design for stationary and mobile generator sets.
  • Provide technical assistance for quote development and interface with customers to resolve inquiries and troubleshoot technical challenges.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and performance analyses to enhance power generation systems' efficiency and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate power generation systems into comprehensive infrastructure projects.
  • Develop and implement maintenance and troubleshooting protocols to ensure ongoing reliability of power generation equipment.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to inform design decisions and enhance system performance.
  • Provide support and guidance to field service teams during installation, commissioning, and maintenance operations.
  • Ensure power generation systems adhere to safety and environmental standards.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports, specifications, and maintain product Bill of Materials (BOM) to support planning and compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years in power generation engineering or a closely related area.
  • Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering principles; proficiency with gaseous-fired engines required, diesel engine familiarity preferred.
  • Experience with CAD software and other engineering tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and keen attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive approach to continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Physical Demands

  • Ability to stand, bend, and lift objects up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Work Environment

  • Warehouse environment with potential exposure to odors, noise, dust, heat, cold, or chemicals.
  • Personal Protective Equipment

  • Eye protection (goggles, face shield, or safety glasses) and steel-toed safety shoes / boots.
  • Training Requirements

  • General Safety, Harassment Prevention, Quality System Awareness, ISO Compliance, and Ethical Standards training.
