Advanced Systems Engineer - Control Account Manager

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for an Advanced Systems Engineer - Control Account Manager. This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's core defense / intelligence services and systems. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.

This role is responsible for planning, monitoring, and organizing engineering resources required to design, procure, build, test and document new developments and modification to existing products. This position will have ownership over the EVM process and will be the manager of the control accounts that fund program execution.

The Advanced Systems Engineer supplements the existing leadership team including DPME and IPT leads. He / She will focus on cross-functional handovers through collecting / tracking metrics or other artifacts and ensuring tasking is correctly reflected and accomplished in the IMS (including risk mitigation). He / She meets with the IPT leads to review status of these handovers to ensure they are on track and any issues are understood in advance. The IPT's are focused on their product in conjunction with the Advanced Systems Engineer to ensure an understanding of upstream and downstream needs, impacts and dependencies.

Representative Duties and Tasks :

• Participates in proposal activities
• Establishes background knowledge on proposed scope to inform for program execution.
• Accountable to DPME and expected to operate with limited oversight and coordinates the interface between manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and the engineering to coordinate program funding and execution.
• Creating long- and short-term plans, including setting targets for detailed tasks, adhering to program milestones and tracking resources within the EVM process.
• Ensure risk mitigation and opportunities are incorporated in IMS and tracked as tasks.
• Will be the Control Account Manager (CAM) for a number of IPTs or engineering areas.
• Collects, reviews, analyses and acts on project metrics and data to manage resources toward meeting project commitments and deliverables objectives.
• Initiating material procurements and interfacing with Supply Chain, Vendors and Manufacturing to ensure resource availability to support build schedules.
• Provides visibility into material order status and elevates issues to IPT leads and DPME as necessary.
• Collects and coordinates inputs form technical leads to consolidate BOM.

Salary Note

This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.

Combined Salary Range :

USD $110,000.00 - USD $120,000.00 / Yr.
