Essential Job Duties :

The position of Lecturer of Veterinary Anatomy will be dedicated 100% to instructional activities of the anatomy curriculum. Veterinary anatomy is taught during the fall and spring semesters of the first year DVM program. The successful candidate in this position will be required to participate fully in the instruction of both fall (carnivore) and spring ( large animal) anatomy courses, and assume responsibilities of laboratory instruction and associated assessments of student learning. Development of innovative teaching methods and resources for anatomy instruction (for example : prosections, dry models, and digital media resources, etc.) will be expected of this position.

M- F, (8 : 30am - 5 : 00pm) variable as needed for labs and student instruction

Minimum Experience / Education :

  • Master’s Degree, an equivalent degree or equivalent professional exprience.
  • Possession of excellent interpersonal skills as well as oral and written communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to work with others in a collegial team atmosphere.
  • Department Required Skills :

  • Veterinary clinical practice background and / or teaching experience in gross anatomy or a closely related applied discipline (for example, surgery, radiology, pathology, etc.)
  • Possession of excellent interpersonal skills as well as oral and written communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to work with others in a collegial team atmosphere.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education :

    DVM, PhD, or equivalent degree

    Prefer teaching experience in a University setting

    Strong commitment to excellence in teaching is expected

    Prefer good computer skills; i.e. MS Word, MS Excel

    Good communication skills, verbal and written.
