A Pediatric Hospitalist Physician is needed in Pendleton, OR, for ongoing locum coverage at a rural critical access acute care hospital. The role requires board certification, active Oregon license, and abilities to stabilize and transfer patients, with a patient volume of 3-5 per week. The position involves 24-hour block scheduling and collaboration with ER physicians, supported by a dedicated nursing staff.

Location / Area : Pendleton, OR Northeastern Border of Oregon, near the WA state border. 1hr from Walla Walla, WA.

Specialty Requested : Pediatric Hospitalist Peds with inpatient exp.

Other Acceptable Specialties : No

Locum / Locum-to-Perm / Perm : Locum

Start & End Date : April / May - Ongoing

Minimum Length of Coverage : 7-14 shifts per month minimum TBD waiting on Hospital Schedule. The more availability the better.

Schedule :

  • 24 hr shifts
  • Block Scheduling Most likely 7 on / off

Call Schedule if Required : Yes

Type of Facility (Clinic, Hospital, Multi-Specialty Group, Solo, Community Health, etc.) : Rural Critical Access Acute Care Hospital Level 4 Trauma Center

  • 25-Bed facility, licensed for 49 beds.
  • Apart of the Catholic Health Initiatives hospital network.

    • Position Details :

  • MUST be BC or truly BE
  • MUST have NRP, BLS, DEA & Active OR License
  • PALS is a plus but not necessary
  • EMR is Meditech
  • Patient Volume : 3-5 per week
  • There is NO NICU. MUST be able to stabilize & transfer patients.
  • No Cardiology.
  • Skills wise : Admitting babies, Rounding on babies, discharging, Rare but must be able to work with ER physicians in Emergency scenarios, stay with ER physician and help with admitting patient.

    • Support Staff Available :

  • Nurse Manager / Floor Manager, 3-4 Nurses, OBGYN MD / DO will always be on staff, ER physicians.

    • Additional Details :

  • Standard Credentialing timeline 30-45 days, IF clean.
  • Able to receive temporary privileges if completely clean.
  • Travel expenses covered by client.
