The Opportunity

In this role, you will have the opportunity to :

  • Function as a technical specialist or in a lead substation design role encompassing EHV transmission level voltage class.
  • Under general direction, develop and apply advanced engineering techniques, concepts and approaches to complex engineering problems.
  • Provide technical guidance over a group or supervise engineering staff on substation design projects.
  • Be responsible for the overall execution and quality of substation projects as a leader within a team environment.

This is a HYBRID opportunity located in Tualatin, OR . Flexible hybrid expectations allow three in-office days and two flex / remote days per week.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering from a recognized accredited program.
  • Minimum of 8 years related work experience.
  • All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements.

    • Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain budgets and schedules for multiple substation design projects.
  • Perform EHV substation design, including physical design, protective relaying / control with an emphasis on continuous improvement.
  • Provides guidance and direction on department design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes and Black and Veatch policies.
  • Independently applies knowledge and complies with Black and Veatch quality program relative to assigned tasks.
  • Communicates client interests and drivers to project team members.

    • Certifications

    Most positions will typically require incumbents to have professional registration or licensure in their designated home office country, or be in active pursuit of such registration.
