Essential Job Duties :

The Visiting Research Scholar will join Dr. Martin Thuo’s

Research Group and the Center for Complex Particle Systems

to conduct research, specifically on the subject of additive

manufacturing and the fabrication of complex metal particles.

M-F, 30 hours per week between 8 : 00AM-5 : 00PM

Other Work / Responsibilities :

The primary responsibilities for this position will be as follows :

  • Fabricating metal particles using facilities in Prof. Thuo’s laboratory
  • Facilitating the 3D printing particles and characterizing resulting
  • microstructures, mechanical properties and composition gradients

  • Facilitating the 3D printing of complex metal particles to control
  • microstructure and mechanical properties.

  • Conducting research relevant to the group’s focus of complex metal
  • particles, their microstructures, mechanical properties and beyond

  • Assists in preparing presentations and writing proposals
  • Minimum Experience / Education :

    Master of Engineering in Materials Science &

    Engineering or related field.
