Under the supervision of the Director of Family Services, this position is primarily an educational role. The main goal is to support parents in developing strong, positive relationships with their children by enhancing their understanding of child development, health, and learning. This is achieved through group and individual strategies, comprehensive parent education / training, family engagement activities, advocacy, case management, and development of Family Partnership Agreements.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the Educare Learning Network (ELN) and other community partners to ensure ELN requirements, DHS Licensing, NAEYC Criteria, and Head Start Performance Standards are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide research-based data and strategies to drive program practices
  • Understand and support core features of ELN, such as social-emotional development and reflective supervision
  • Offer detailed information to parents on the importance of their relationship with their child
  • Provide hands-on parent / child activities to encourage positive interactions
  • Promote positive child development and social-emotional wellbeing through effective parenting and early intervention
  • Comply with and lead efforts in creating parent involvement, family, and community partnerships
  • Plan and assist with monthly classroom-based parent meetings
  • Participate in family / child review meetings and provide follow-up with parents
  • Assist in establishing connections to early intervention or disability programs
  • Provide information on early childhood development materials and activities to parents

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Family Studies, Social Work, or a related field
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience working with children and families
  • MS Office skills, database software skills, organizational skills, efficiency skills, and excellent attention to detail
  • Bilingual (Spanish / English) preferred
  • This is a full-time, educational position with some local travel required. The work environment involves bending, stooping, lifting, squatting, kneeling, crawling, stretching, pushing, and pulling throughout the day, with the ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
