About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Hours per Shift : 12

Experience : Minimum of 2-3 years prior strong Med ICU or ICU experience required.

License : NJ State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license

Certifications :

BLS - AHA

ACLS

Telemetry - NIHSS - CEU Contact Stroke 4 Hours

Must-Have :

• Strong experience with central lines, ventilators, and ICU cardiac telemetry
• Competent to administer blood transfusions

Description :

The Registered Nurse is responsible for evaluating patients and assisting physicians with patient care.

Plans, implements, and documents nursing care based on patients’ needs.

Identifies patient needs and determines priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.

Develops, implements, and coordinates individualized plans of care for patients assigned through initial and ongoing assessments.

Initiates assessment based on the patient’s problems or needs, the physician’s medical diagnosis, and the functional health framework.

Performs therapeutic nursing interventions.

Manages care of patients.

Documents care based on standards of care and practice, patient acuity, and / or clinical priorities.

Advocates for evidence-based practice care standards and supports adoption of evidence-based practices and innovations in care delivery.

Provides patient-centric care in alignment with the professional nursing practice model.

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Schedule Notes :

Shift from 7 : 00 PM to 7 : 30 AM, three times a week.

Every other weekend required or as needed.

Holidays required as needed based on unit needs with consideration for work-life balance.

No on-call requirement.

Float requirement to like ICUs may be necessary.

Required Hard Skills :

• Complex critical care at the CCRN level
• High acuity
• Mechanical ventilation
• Complex vasopressors
• Sedation / paralytics with strong understanding of sedation and spontaneous breathing trials for mechanical ventilation
• Arterial line expertise
• Swan ganz
• Phlebotomy, arterial blood gas specimen collection
• Central line management with strong peripheral IV accessibility
• Chest tubes
• Bladder management and straight catheterization
• Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) experience preferred
• Balloon pump knowledge preferred
• Impella experience preferred
• CCRN highly recommended or preferred
