Project Manager
We are seeking a dynamic Project Manager to support our higher-level Project Management team members in the Electric Distribution sector, particularly for renewable interconnections. This is a 26-month contract with potential for extension, providing an opportunity to manage projects within the Renewable Interconnection program. The ideal candidate will work out of Michigan, preferably in the vicinity of Grand Rapids, Saginaw, or Bay City.
Responsibilities
- Manage all engineering work from inception to completion, including rebuilds of workstations, modifications to substations, and new projects.
- Coordinate tasks, schedules, and integration with lines team, substations team, real estate, and environmental teams.
- Prepare statements of work for tasks that may require bidding.
- Conduct site visits, spending approximately 20% of the time in the field.
- Support the Project Management team for small to medium projects, ensuring timely and budget-compliant completion.
- Plan and execute the Project Lifecycle Process, including preparation of plans, schedule planning, and other standardized project management deliverables.
- Prepare financial forecasts and reconcile project expenditures.
- Develop high-level project schedules using Microsoft Projects and communicate these to the project team.
- Communicate and negotiate with stakeholders, both internal and external, and outside agencies.
- Identify and manage risks, issues, and constraints impacting project execution, and develop contingency plans and mitigation strategies.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in Project Management Institute PM knowledge areas, including Project Integration, Scope, Schedule, Cost, Quality, Resource, Communications, Risk, Procurement, and Stakeholder Management.Project Management skills, including the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.General knowledge and understanding of electric distribution lines and substations.Ability to connect and work cross-functionally with project stakeholders.Experience with HVD and LVD lines and substations is highly desired.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in engineering, business, or a relevant field from an accredited college or university.2-4 years of relevant work experience preferred.Experience with Project Engineering or Project Coordination in EPC (Engineering Procurement Construction).Familiarity with Microsoft Projects, Primavera, and Unifier.Experience with Electrical Distribution or Substation Construction Projects is advantageous.Work Environment
The position is hybrid, with the expectation of spending three days per week in the office. While the primary office is in the person, MI, candidates residing in Grand Rapids, Saginaw, or Bay City are also considered. Travel to job sites is required, with approximately 20% of time spent in the field. The majority of the team operates out of the person, MI, but flexibility in office location is available based on the candidate's residence.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.87 - $55.00 / hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
