Bridge / Structures Engineer, Mid-Level - S0004
Base pay range : $90,000.00 / yr - $125,000.00 / yr
Felsburg Holt & Ullevig is seeking a highly motivated Bridge Engineer, with 5-10 years of experience to join our structures group. Our structures team works on exciting and collaborative projects across the Midwest and Rocky Mountain region. We are seeking a mid-level engineer who not only excels in technical design but also enjoys contributing to team leadership, client engagement, and cross-disciplinary coordination to improve local communities.
Responsibilities
- Complete analysis and design of various transportation structures including bridges, retaining walls and box culverts
- Use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents
- Take ownership for projects and lead the preparation of plans, reports and specifications for projects. Experience with CDOT, NDOT, SDDOT, or IADOT formats preferred
- Collaborate with internal teams and clients to define project goals and deliverables, ensuring strong communication throughout the design process
- Serve as a client liaison, attending meetings, presenting solutions, and building relationships with stakeholders
- Mentor junior staff and participate in team development efforts, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented team culture
- Work closely with transportation, environmental, and planning teams on multi-disciplinary projects to integrate structural solutions into broader project contexts
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering required; Master's Degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with structural emphasis preferred5-10 years of previous Bridge & Structures Engineering experienceWorking knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design SpecificationsProficiency in applicable bridge design software and structural analysis techniquesFamiliarity with MicroStation, AutoCAD and other field-applicable softwareProject management experience and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clients and team membersEstablished industry relationships and willingness to help lead or support proposal effortsPE Certification requiredSkills
