Lead Electrician

As our Lead Electrician, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our electrical systems. You will install and maintain all electrical systems in all facilities ensuring they are updated and operating at peak efficiency. You will also train and assign work to other electricians.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions

Maintains OSHA / corporate set guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for coworkers
Troubleshoots and repairs electrical problems
Reviews and determines the method of installation from wiring diagrams and plans
Follows-up on assigned job duties to ensure that they are completed fully and in a safe manner
Checks over completed work orders and receipts for proper documentation
Submits completed work orders and receipts to Maintenance Supervisor in a timely manner
Coordinates and schedules electrical maintenance work performed by electricians and contractors
Inspects all aspects of the electrical systems for items needing attention
Oversees and directs the work of outside contractors to ensure safe, quality work is obtained
Conducts all work activities in a safe manner
Keeps records current and updated such as one lines, panel legends, etc.
Manages the current inventory of electrical parts to maintain the correct number of items for our needs
Procures all necessary electrical parts for projects and inventory purposes
Assigns and prioritizes job duties to electricians
Maintains regular and predictable attendance
Abides by all policies and procedures of Oriental Trading Company
Work requires in-person collaboration among colleagues and contractors
Must be able to attend face to face meetings in short or little advance notice

Marginal Functions

Assists Maintenance Supervisors to set goals to constantly update and upgrade all electrical systems

Works with Facility planning to develop the electrical portion of future plans and construction projects

Assists with maintenance issues on an as needed basis

Performs snow removal utilizing proper equipment such as a shovel and snow blower when needed

Performs other duties as assigned

Here's What You Need To Join The Fun :

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong decision making skills

Must have strong written and oral communication skills

Must be able to access all areas of the building including mezzanines and roof areas

Must be able to work in all environments from extreme heat to extreme cold

Demonstrated proficiency in operating equipment, as set forth by the OTC certification standards

Conducts all work activities in compliance with OSHA regulations

Must supply own hand tools

Education

Vocational / Trade school diploma or certificate in Electrical Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience

Electrical Journeyman's license is required

Experience

Minimum of 8 years electrical experience

Minimum 4 years possessing a current Journeyman electrical license

Minimum of 2 years motor control circuit installation and trouble shooting experience

One year experience in training and providing work direction to others is preferred

Experience with Allen Bradley PLC controls / programming preferred

Other Qualifications

A valid driver's license and driving record in accordance with OTC standards is required for operation of company vehicles

Must be able to work flexible hours

Ability to lift up to 75 pounds on a regular basis

Must be able to walk frequently, use elevators and climb open grate stairways

Ability to work rotational weekend shifts while being on call 24 hours 7 days a week (excludes vacations and approved time off)
