Job Description

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist in Charge experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A leadership position is available for a Pharmacist in Charge to oversee pharmacy operations in Cambridge, MA. This role is ideal for a licensed pharmacist with recent management experience, particularly in long-term care (LTC), who is ready to take responsibility for ensuring compliance, operational excellence, and high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Manage daily pharmacy operations including prescription dispensing, medication counseling, and patient care services
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations governing pharmacy practice
  • Maintain accurate records for prescriptions, inventory, and controlled substances
  • Develop and implement policies that optimize pharmacy safety and efficiency
  • Lead, mentor, and evaluate pharmacy staff, including pharmacists and technicians
  • Oversee inventory management to balance adequate stock and reduce waste
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and insurance companies to resolve medication-related issues
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and complaints promptly
  • Conduct audits and inspections to uphold safety and compliance standards
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and stay current with industry changes
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant work environment

Qualifications :

  • Active Massachusetts Pharmacist license in good standing
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in long-term care pharmacy
  • Recent experience managing pharmacy staff and operations
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacy regulations, safety, and quality practices
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Schedule :

  • Monday through Friday, primarily day shift; occasional evening and weekend coverage as needed
