Medical Courier

Medical Couriers are responsible for the transportation of medical items to / from labs, hospitals, clinics and other healthcare facilities, or the on-campus transportation of UMC guests. Reports to : Manager of Courier Services.

Job Specific Responsibilities :

• Responsible for transporting labs, deposits, mail, supplies, equipment, linens, medications, and paperwork to and from the hospital, local labs, or any other partnering facilities
• Driving the UMC campus shuttle, or golf cart, and transporting patients, employees or visitors from one site on the campus, to another site on campus
• Logging vehicle mileage and maintenance information in the company logbook
• All other assigned duties related to UMC Courier

This position will interact with clinic staff, patients and their family members, health care providers, UMC guests, students, volunteers, and fellow employees.

Physical Capabilities :

Work requires driving, walking, pushing, pulling, and lifting.

Environmental / Working Conditions :

This position is subject to both internal environments of a vehicle, and external environments while transporting items.
