Responsibilities

  • Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently for transactions, including cashiering and cash handling.
  • Conduct product demonstrations to highlight features and benefits to customers.
  • Engage in upselling techniques to maximize sales opportunities.
  • Maintain merchandising standards by organizing displays and stocking shelves appropriately.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with restocking as needed to ensure product availability.
  • Supervise junior staff members when required, providing guidance and support to enhance team performance.
  • Uphold store cleanliness and organization to create an inviting shopping environment.
  • Utilize basic math skills for accurate cash handling and retail math calculations.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and team members, demonstrating strong phone etiquette when handling inquiries.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in retail sales or customer service is preferred.
  • Familiarity with grocery store operations is a plus.
  • Basic math skills for handling transactions and inventory management.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse customers.
  • Experience with POS systems is advantageous.
  • Supervising experience is beneficial for those interested in leadership roles within the store.
