A minimum of 2 years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. • Work in a 40-bed Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) unit with 20 beds on each floor
• Target patient ratio of 1 : 3, may stretch to 1 : 4 depending on staffing
• Rotating weekend schedule required
• Travelers float first according to facility floating policy
• Must have oncology experience and chemo certification
• Oncology & PCU level of care experience required
• BMT experience preferred
• Required certifications : BLS, ACLS, ONS chemo certification
• Ability to read telemetry and monitor simple titration of drips preferred
• Competent to administer chemotherapy
• Excellent assessment skills required
• Work with bedside monitors mounted on walls and bedside computers
• Lift assist devices available
• Documentation system : Meditech
• Perform infrequent bone marrow biopsies
• Patient experience requirements include bedside shift report, safety rounds, manage team up, and no pass zone
• Dress code : Royal blue scrubs

The facility performs both autologous and allogeneic transplants, including related, unrelated, haplo-match and mismatch donors, as well as CAR-T therapies. The unit is known for awesome teamwork and being very welcoming to float and contract employees. Unit support includes Health Unit Coordinators Monday through Friday 7AM-3PM and 2 PCTs during AM shift with 1 PCT during PM shift.
