Main Purpose of Job
The principal responsibility of the Department Property Officer at the Office of the Secretary's level is to ensure DPSCS compliance with the Maryland Annotated Code Section 4-306 and the policies and procedures set forth by the Department of General Services and the Department of Budget and Management by exercising general direction of all staff involved with DPSCS state property. Active involvement with the planning, development, interpretation, implementation and evaluation of fixed assets / inventory programs, policies and procedures. Requires originality and creative thought in the modification of existing procedures to improve the agency's accountability of fixed assets / inventory.

Minimum Qualifications
Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year up to two years of the required experience.

Licenses, Registrations and Certifications
Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
