Summary
An Optometric Technician is a valuable asset to an optometrist as they assist in providing a world class Total Patient Experience. This team member is able to handle a wide range of duties while using optical equipment to perform the initial testing needed to prepare a patient for an exam with an Optometrist.
Responsibilities
- Embrace and execute our Total Patient Experience to build relationships with all patients while delivering great medical support
- Comply with all company policies and procedures including HIPAA
- Practice urgency at all times placing value on a patient's time, as well as the doctor's time and schedule
- Operate manual lensometer, auto-lensometer, autorefractor / keratometer, retinal camera, visual field, GDX or OCT
- Follow scripting for testing equipment (photos, visual fields, visual activity, etc.)
- Clean all examination equipment including tonometer tip
- Interact with all levels of employees in a courteous, professional manner at all times
- Perform general office duties and cleaning as assigned by the manager
- Contribute to a positive, team-oriented, patient-focused work environment
- Commit to work hours that meet the needs of the business, which may include weekends or schedule changes
Qualifications
Previous medical office experience preferred; ophthalmic experience strongly preferredMinimum of 1 year in a role interacting with customers / patients or equivalent education / experienceFavorable result on background check as required by stateMust provide proof of identity and right to work in the United StatesEducation and / or Experience

Frequent walking (approximately 75%), sitting (50%), and standing (50%), with regular bending, stooping, and reaching (25–50%). Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull items up to 25 lbs. Fine motor skills and full use of hands required for grasping, writing / typing, and use of technology.
