Position : Construction Manager
The Construction Manager oversees company projects during the construction and commissioning phase. The Construction Manager is responsible for ensuring construction subcontractors are executing the work in accordance with safety, quality, reporting, contract, standards, change management, risk management, and schedule requirements. The Construction Manager’s additional responsibilities are proper communication with project team and project stakeholders to include standardized reporting and conducting appropriate construction meetings.
Essential Job Duties, Responsibilities, & Expectations :
Perform Project Setup
Reviews the project drawings, project scope, subcontractor scopes, and overall project schedule.Orders site office, supplies, IT equipment, internet, facilities, and setup local vendors.Site Setup :Responsible for the setup of Office trailers, laydown areas, electrical hookups and permits.
Develops EAP and Storm Water Pollution Plan (SWPPP) with Safety Manager and third parties, as required.Submits work plans, traffic plans, and project outages to client for review.Obtains permits for any of the plans that require them.Construction Activities :
General :Reports to Project Manager (PM) and Client.
Oversee and / or directs construction projects to completion.Meets contractual conditions of performance.Oversee all construction scopes to verify compliance with drawings, safety, and quality.Verifies revisions or changes to existing drawings. To be turned into engineering at end of project. Maintains the most recent revision.Coordinates with Project Engineers any required changes.Coordinates project subcontractor’s scopes of work to maintain continuous flow of the project and avoid delays caused by other subcontractor’s scopes of work (3 week lookahead)Establishes risk factors to the construction process. Manages and mitigates risk factors to ensure construction schedule while maintaining quality.Materials and Equipment :
Performs materials and equipment receiving and tracking.Verifies materials for the scope of site.Reports :
Review AMP QA / QC Plan prior to project execution.Prepares internal and external reports pertaining to job status, safety, and quality (see below for details)Provides quality reports during and after the installation of an activity.Daily :
Fill out AMP daily report and submit to Project Manager.Participate in morning sub-contract safety meetings.Issue work permits as required per task.Observe high risk activities (i.e, hot work, critical lifts, confined space, etc.)Perform KPA Observation, 1 per day minimumSite “progress” Photos (ensure personnel has proper PPE and photo can pass safety observation), upload to CM folder.Document sub-contractor Daily Logs in project folder for work verification.Verify sub-contractor received and checks vendor material, sub-contractor, and CM to sign off on materials received. Scan to procurement and file packing slip on server.Perform Site Safety Orientation as needed for new personnel arriving onsite along with safetyman.Weekly :
Ensure 3-week forecast is complete on Saturday or last day of the week.KPA Site Audit- Document in KPA SystemMonthly :
Inspect AED- Document in KPA system
