Production Planning Specialist
Weatherford is seeking a Production Planning Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for defining, developing, and maintaining planning activities within our facility. You will collaborate closely with production teams, engineering, procurement, quotations, and order management to ensure resources, materials, and capacities are allocated effectively and aligned with customer need dates.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain production plans, ensuring alignment with customer requirements, forecasts, and available resources
- Schedule new sales orders by assessing material and capacity availability
- Act on MRP / DRP messages daily and create and release work orders to the workshop and assembly
- Escalate material and equipment shortages as required and coordinate with cross-functional teams to identify potential bottlenecks
- Monitor material availability and coordinate with Procurement to prevent disruptions
- Identify supply chain risks and work closely with Procurement and Sourcing leads to proactively eliminate them
- Collaborate with the engineering team to incorporate ECN changes into the production schedule
- Ensure workorder plans comply with customer-specific quality plans and witness / hold points
- Provide regular reports to management on planning metrics and mentor team members as appropriate
Education
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Supply Chain, Engineering (manufacturing, mechanical, industrial) or related fields is preferred.Certifications
Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP), APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM), or Sourcing Certificate is preferredLean or Green Belt Six Sigma certification is preferredRequirements
Minimum of 2+ years of experience in planning / scheduling in an MRP-driven environmentExperience in MRP / ERP systemsStrong communication skills, ability to communicate at various levels within the organizationProficiency in English and potentially other languages relevant to the local hubExcellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a teamIntermediate Excel user and proficiency in MS Word and OutlookSolid understanding of Materials Requirement Planning (MRP)Proven organizational, project management, and leadership skillsAnalytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, and ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectivelyThis role may require 10% domestic and potentially international travel.
