  • Healthcare Setting : 7 East Trauma & General Surgery Inpatient Unit (Stepdown & Floor)\n
  • Unit : Comprehensive Bariatric Surgery Center – nationally recognized\n
  • Assignment Start Date : November 10, 2025\n
  • Assignment End Date : February 9, 2026\n
  • Contract Duration : 13-week travel nurse assignment\n
  • Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week\n
  • Nursing Shift : 12-hour weekend nights (Friday-Sunday or Saturday-Monday), holidays as scheduled\n
  • Estimated Weekly Salary : $1860 - $2000\n
  • Charting System : EPIC electronic health records\n

    • \n\nRegistered Nurse Qualifications\n \n

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (open to out-of-state candidates; licensure assistance available)\n
  • BLS certification required\n
  • Minimum 1 year of recent acute care experience in a cardiac stepdown or stepdown unit\n
  • Proficiency in complex wound care, drains, medical devices, traumatic injuries, chest tubes, respiratory support, TBI, and spinal cord injuries\n
  • Ability to read and interpret cardiac monitor strips\n
  • COVID-19 vaccination required (medical / religious exemptions considered)\n
  • Must have a driver's license address located more than 50 miles from the facility\n

    • \n\nCardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities\n \n

  • Deliver direct patient care to trauma, general surgery, bariatric, and cardiac stepdown patients\n
  • Manage complex wound care, drains, chest tubes, and respiratory support devices\n
  • Monitor and validate cardiac rhythms; titrate non-pressor drips (such as insulin, Cardizem, heparin, PCA)\n
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including care management, surgical / medical services, and rehabilitation\n
  • Float to similar units (floor / stepdown) as needed for clinical support\n
  • Maintain accurate nursing documentation using EPIC\n
  • Adhere to unit dress code (Royal Blue scrubs)\n
