Position Summary
C5T seeks a Junior Research Analyst to support a multi-disciplinary action research team partnering with the Air Force Research Laboratory and Air Mobility Command (AMC). Under the guidance of a Principal Investigator and Program Manager, you'll apply mixed-methods research to help solve complex theoretical, operational, and organizational challenges in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.
Location : Hybrid. Work is primarily at C5T offices or via telework with occasional on-site support at Scott Air Force Base, IL (AMC HQ).
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with project leads and stakeholders to refine research questions, scope, and success criteria.
Collect quantitative and qualitative data (e.g., document reviews, interviews, observations, system queries).
Maintain clear documentation of procedures, data sources, and analysis methods.
Analyze datasets to surface patterns, performance gaps, and emerging trends.
Translate findings into concise reports, briefs, and executive-level visualizations.
Develop evidence-based recommendations and decision support materials.
Support design, testing, and iteration of solutions to operational / organizational issues.
Plan, schedule, and document working groups and project meetings; track actions and follow-ups.
Coordinate with stakeholders to gather inputs and support implementation of approved changes.
Prepare deliverables including reports, manuals, and presentations.
Safeguard sensitive information and follow all applicable security policies.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Psychology, Organizational Development, Political Science, Security Studies, or related discipline).
Coursework or internship experience in research, analysis, or policy evaluation.
Demonstrated ability to synthesize information from multiple sources and communicate insights clearly.
Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and time-management skills; comfortable handling multiple deadlines.
Proven ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team in a dynamic environment.
Awareness of broader mission context and stakeholder needs.
Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint).
Ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
Desired Qualifications
Familiarity with U.S. defense policy, military structure, national security issues, or AMC headquarters functions.
Experience with qualitative analysis tools (e.g., NVivo, MAXQDA, ATLAS.ti).
Experience with Jira or similar agile work-management tools.
Active DoD security clearance.
