job_description.job_card.job_descriptionBLS Certification Required Prior to First Shift ACLS Required Prior to First Shift (CIRH ONLY) Minimum Two (2) Years Bedside Clinical Experience (Highly desired) 13 weeks Rotating weekends / holiday Assumes charge responsibility following orientation period as requested Performs a nursing assessment on all patients within 8 hours of admission Provides patient information and status in a timely manner for the Initial Team Conference and for Re-evaluation Team Conferences on a weekly basis Work Location : Select Specialty Hospital - South Dakota (Sioux Falls) The Registered Nurse maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees Embraces the Select Medical Way and Core Values of the Company : We deliver superior quality in all that we do We treat others as they would like to be treated We are results oriented and achieve our objectives We are team players We are resourceful in overcoming obstacles Promotes Patient and Employee Safety Focused on 10 Foot Circle of Safety and displays safety awareness in key areas : Safe Patient Handling Materials Handling Infectious Diseases Slips / Trips and Falls Work Environment Follows all hospital guidelines outlining standards of personal appearance, attendance and punctuality Based on the Competency Program established for direct care providers, possesses the skills and competencies necessary to perform job function Identifies teaching needs and goals related to the diagnosis of each patient Responsible and accountable for accurate documentation Participates in the patient rehabilitation program on an assigned unit Initiates discharge planning on all patients from the day of admission Communicates all pertinent information regarding changes in patient's status Provides direction, training and supervision of ancillary nursing personnel Provides for and assures personal and environmental safety Positively contributes to the functioning of the unit Maintains communication with manager and senior nursing staff Identifies and initiates own professional growth Prioritizes activities and plans for effective use of time and staff Performs other duties as requested
