About The Position

Job Title : Echo Tech

Profession : Clinical-Allied

Hours per Shift : 8 hours

Experience : Minimum of 3 years previous healthcare experience

License : Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (CCI)

Certifications : BLS (American Heart Association)

Must-Have : Positive attitude and proven willingness to assess and improve the work environment

Description :

Performs routine and complex echocardiographic sonography imaging procedures following departmental guidelines.

Demonstrates acceptable imaging quality standards by critiquing positioning, technical factors, and alignment.

Reviews patient data for accuracy, quality, and completeness.

Documents accurately and completely.

Cross-trains to other divisions of cardiovascular services.

Administers contrast when needed and not contraindicated.

Completes documentation of studies performed and charges in the electronic health record system.

Provides complete preliminary information for physician reading.

Participates in a call rotation throughout the week and on weekends with other team members.

Is team-minded and provides compassionate care and quality studies to patients.

Performs all forms of echocardiographic testing, including exercise stress tests, dobutamine stress tests, pediatric echoes, and transesophageal echoes in a timely manner.

Seeks to advance knowledge in all aspects of echocardiography with an open mind to constructive learning and teaching.
