MedScript LTC Pharmacy is recruiting for a Compliance Pharmacist to join our team! The primary purpose of the position is to assist in implementing, monitoring, and enforcing the pharmacy's compliance program, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations specific to long-term care pharmacy operations.
The Compliance Pharmacist will work closely with the Compliance Department, senior management, pharmacy staff, and external partners to promote a culture of compliance and ensure that all practices meet regulatory standards. This role requires a strong understanding of regulatory requirements, including DSCSA, DEA, EPA, HIPAA, and state Board of Pharmacy regulations.
Job Duties :
- Including and in addition to the primary duties of a Staff Pharmacist and a Compliance Manager
- Support and lead the Compliance Department in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the pharmacy's compliance program, policies, and procedures.
- Conduct routine compliance audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify potential areas of non-compliance and recommend corrective actions.
- Conduct quarterly Accountability Audits for the Control Room
- Monitor and track regulatory changes affecting long-term care pharmacy operations and assist in updating policies and procedures accordingly.
- Preparing and delivering compliance training programs to pharmacy staff to ensure understanding of regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Coordinate with pharmacy staff and management to address compliance concerns, implement corrective actions, and ensure continuous improvement as a part of our Quality Assurance program.
- Maintain records of compliance activities, including training records, audit findings, incident investigations, and corrective actions.
- Prepare reports on compliance activities and findings for senior management.
- Serve as a resource to staff regarding compliance-related questions and issues.
- Support the Compliance Department and senior management in responding to regulatory inquiries, inspections, and audits, and ensure timely and accurate reporting to regulatory agencies.
- Manage the pharmacy's medication destruction program in compliance with EPA and DSCSA regulations.
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts and weekends, if needed.
- Other duties as assigned by Director of Pharmacy
Job requirements :
Must be a graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy with a minimum of a BS degree or Pharm D preferred.Must be licensed by the Indiana State Board of Pharmacy.Five years pharmacy experience. Long term care experience preferred.A minimum of 3 years in institutional pharmacy practice is preferred.A minimum of 2 years supervisory experience is preferred.Familiarity with pharmacy regulations, including DSCSA, DEA, EPA, HIPAA, and state-specific long-term care pharmacy requirements.Experience with conducting audits, investigations, and implementing corrective actions.Job Type : Full-time
