Position Overview :
Direct Counsel is representing a respected law firm in Los Angeles seeking an experienced Litigation Associate with at least 4 years of broad-based litigation experience. The ideal candidate will have strong research, analytical, and drafting skills, along with experience in all aspects of litigation, including motion practice, depositions, and trial preparation.
Responsibilities :
Handling a diverse caseload involving commercial litigation, including matters related to breach of contract, tortious interference with contract, and breach of fiduciary duty.
Arguing motions, taking and defending depositions, and preparing cases for trial.
Collaborating with senior attorneys and clients to develop and execute effective litigation strategies.
Managing all stages of litigation, from pre-trial discovery through to trial and appeal.
Working on intellectual property-related litigation is a plus.
Qualifications :
At least 4 years of broad-based litigation experience.
Strong experience in commercial litigation, including breach of contract, tortious interference with contract, and breach of fiduciary duty.
Experience in intellectual property litigation is desirable.
Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
Admission to the California Bar.
A strong academic record is required.
Compensation :
The expected base salary for this position ranges from $250,000 to $275,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience. Associates who meet the firm’s performance standards (including billing at least 1,900 hours) can expect total compensation (base salary plus a discretionary bonus) ranging from $385,000 to $425,000. The discretionary bonus may increase based on hours billed and collected in excess of 1,900 hours. Additionally, the firm provides an extra bonus for work originated by associates.
