Our team is growing, and we're looking for a detail-oriented Purchasing Assistant to join us and play a key role in supporting both our purchasing and accounting departments.
Position Summary
As a Purchasing Assistant , you will be responsible for assisting in the procurement of materials, tools, and equipment for construction projects. In addition, you will support our accounting team with data entry, purchase order tracking, and vendor communications using QuickBooks
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing and issuing purchase orders for materials and supplies
- Track delivery schedules and ensure timely receipt of goods
- Communicate with suppliers and vendors to obtain quotes, confirm orders, and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation
- Support the accounting team with data entry, invoice matching, and purchase order reconciliation
- Enter and manage vendor bills and payments in QuickBooks
- Assist with inventory tracking and reporting
- Coordinate with project managers to ensure job site needs are met
Qualifications
Previous experience in purchasing or procurement (construction industry a plus)Proficient in QuickBooksStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environmentStrong communication and interpersonal skillsWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred)Benefits
