American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool position requiring strong Pediatric ICU and basic arrhythmia expertise.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Position is within a Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool, floating between multiple pediatric critical care units as neededCare provided to critically ill and injured children admitted with medical and surgical problems including head injuries, neuro disorders, pulmonary diseases, cardiac anomalies, organ transplantation, and multi-system organ failure12-hour day or evening shifts, 7 : 00am–7 : 30pm, Monday through Friday with every other weekend and some holidays requiredTelemetry skills and ability to pass a telemetry test are required prior to startEPIC EMR system is utilized and recent experience is requiredTravelers are given first float priority and may be assigned to alternate units if necessaryProvide comprehensive, family-centered critical care to pediatric patients with complex needs in a state-of-the-art 21-bed unitWork as part of a highly skilled, multidisciplinary team of pediatric specialistsMandatory orientation program is provided prior to starting on the unitTesting for telemetry competency required before assignment can beginHoliday and weekend rotation is required per unit guidelinesFirst-time travelers may be considered in select unitsScrub or dress code details will be provided in the department welcome letter\n \n Requirements\n
Active WI or compact RN license in hand at the time of considerationBLS and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association requiredMinimum of 2 years acute care Pediatric ICU experience within the last 3 yearsStrong experience with cardiac step-down and general cardiac cases preferredBasic arrhythmia interpretation experience requiredAbility to pass a telemetry exam with strict passing criteria prior to startEPIC charting experience within the past 12 months preferredBaccalaureate degree in nursing preferredPermanent residence must be at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted\n Benefits\n
