About The Role

We are looking for a Staff Backend Engineer - Innovations to create interfaces and flows for new verticals at Mochi Health. You will work directly with ex-founders, high-frequency traders, rocket engineers in the "skunkworks project" within Mochi to take Mochi from an obesity health platform to a world-class health platform

You'll play a key role in crafting best-in-class web and mobile experiences that delight both customers and providers. From launching bold new features to rapidly experimenting with fresh verticals, you'll help shape what's next for Mochi Health. This role is perfect for someone who is able to be scrappy in the world of Web and Mobile development, while having good architectural and design sense to build effectively.

What You'll Do

• Lead the development, optimization and expansion of our core backend services. (Typescript / Python)
• Drive best practices in performance, security, and scalability as we scale rapidly over the next 6 / 12 months.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Design and Frontend teams to deliver seamless, intuitive user experiences.
• Own key architectural decisions, mentoring engineers, and elevating back-end excellence across the company.
• Build out data-driven services and systems to bolster the customer experience.
• Influence engineering culture, fostering innovation and technical ownership within the team.

The base salary for this full-time position ranges from $250,000 to $300,000, in addition to equity and benefits. Actual compensation within this range is determined by various factors, such as job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and location.
