Skilled Carpenter

Key Responsibilities

  • Construct, install, and repair wooden / metal structures and fixtures.
  • Measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, metal, and other materials with precision.
  • Inspect and replace damaged frameworks and structural components.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment.
  • Perform both rough framing and detailed trim / finish carpentry.

Core Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of professional carpentry experience.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Proficiency with a wide range of carpentry tools and techniques.
  • Solid math and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.

  • Standard hours : MondayFriday, 7 AM4 PM (subject to seasonal variation)
  • Casual dress code : boots, jeans, t-shirt / sweatshirt
  • Occasional travel to project sites in Ames, Des Moines, or Huxley, IA
  • Team van transportation available for those near the Ames shop

    • Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $20.00$30.00 / hr.
