Job Description
Boston University’s College of Arts & Sciences seeks a passionate and creative Digital Storytelling Fellow to create engaging and compelling social media-first video content to foster engagement with the college.
Responsibilities :
- Lead the production of video and multimedia content from ideation to final delivery, including creative development, storyboarding, shooting, editing, and packaging of all films and digital content
- Develop and execute content that drives engagement, incorporates trends related to higher education, and increases brand awareness.
- Create content for both the college’s YouTube Channel and TikTok / Instagram Reels
- Maintain a video equipment inventory and digital library of video assets and support external video partners in coordinating on-campus shoots.
- Coordinate with the communications specialist and social media intern to build out the social media content calendar
- Identify and seek out members of the BU community to feature, including students, faculty, staff, and alumni
Requirements :
1-3 years experience in video production, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience, and a strong portfolio.Strong storytelling skills and the ability to create compelling narratives.Ability to generate new and creative ideasExcellent communication, oral and written and organizational skillsAbility to work independently, while meeting deadlines and managing multiple projects.A desire to constantly learn and innovate, and evidence of creative problem solving and collaboration.Experience filming videos on Smartphones and professional camerasProficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro and Final Cut ProExperience editing both horizontal and vertical videoPrevious internship experience a plusNote : This is a 6-9-month part-time position for an upper-level undergraduate, graduate student, or recent alum. Unfortunately, the position does not include employee benefits. Fellows will be expected to produce at least one video per week.
