Overview :
Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care under the supervision of person(s) licensed by a State regulatory board to prescribe medication and treatment, or under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse (RN). Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program.Comparable education and licensure may be considered.Licensure
Must hold a current LPN license in the state where nursing duties are performed.Responsible for maintaining licensure and meeting all State Board of Nursing requirements.Experience
Open to both new graduates and experienced LPNs.Certifications
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association required within 30 days of hire.Depending on the unit or position, one or more of the following certifications may be required at hire or obtained within a department-specific timeframe :ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)PEARS (Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization)S.T.A.B.L.E. (Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, and Emotional Support)Six Assessment & Care ModulesOther unit-specific certifications as applicablePhysical Requirements
Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularlyProlonged standing and walking during shiftsMust be able to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform dutiesPreferred Qualifications
