CVOR RN Job Details

Location : Des Moines, Iowa (50309) - Iowa healthcare jobs
Facility : Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR), Level I Trauma Center
Assignment Length : 13-week travel nursing contract (Start : 10 / 13 / 2025 | End : 1 / 12 / 2026)
Shift : 6 : 30 AM - 5 : 00 PM, 10-hour days
Hours per Week : 40
Estimated Weekly Salary : $2,190 - $2,350
On Call : Up to 2 overnight / week and 4 weekends per contract (Friday 5pm - Monday 6 : 30am)
Floating : Required across all campuses (Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Iowa Lutheran Hospital)
Scrubs : Provided

CVOR Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Iowa RN license - Registered Nurse

Minimum 3 years of recent hospital operating room (OR) experience (outpatient experience not accepted)

Demonstrated proficiency in cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgical procedures

Level I trauma center experience required

No first-time travelers (prior travel nursing experience preferred)

Certifications : ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) and BLS (Basic Life Support)

Ability to scrub and circulate preferred

Submission of updated resume, skills checklist (within 1 year), license verification, required certifications, and professional references

CVOR RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality nursing care to cardiovascular operating room patients using the nursing process

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to achieve optimal patient outcomes

Manage 1 : 1 patient ratios in a 16-bed CVOR unit

Participate in high-volume caseloads (average 35-50 cases / day) with efficient case turnovers

Utilize advanced surgical equipment, including Davinci robots, Stealth neuro navigation, and Synthes / Stryker for orthopedic trauma

Float between multiple hospital campuses as needed

Participate in on-call rotations, including weekend coverage
