Human Resources Business Partner
The Senior Human Resources Business Partner plays a critical role within the organization by fostering collaborative relationships with employees and hiring managers. This position provides essential coaching and guidance in areas such as employee relations, team performance, learning and development, total rewards, and workforce planning. The ideal candidate will excel in performing all necessary duties to enhance workplace harmony and efficiency.
Responsibilities :
- Professionally respond to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
- Maintain knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations, ensuring compliance.
- Assist in recruiting, interviewing, testing, selection, and orientation training of new team members.
- Facilitate new hire orientation for both hourly and salaried employees.
- Administer and maintain personnel records, including hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations.
- Manage benefits programs such as vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance.
- Assist with workers compensation and safety issues.
- Prepare team member separation notices and conduct exit interviews.
- Interpret and manage the UAW / Collective Bargaining Agreement, providing counsel on CBA processes.
- Conduct employee relations investigations.
- Manage headcount according to operational needs.
- Maintain KPI data, including absenteeism and turnover rates.
- Facilitate and support community events and recognition activities.
- Support the development and tracking of training plans for plant operating systems.
Essential Skills :
Bachelor's degree in a related field is mandatory.4+ years of relevant Human Resources experience and / or training.Proficiency in reading and interpreting documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals.Ability to create routine reports and correspondence.Competence in presenting and speaking effectively before team members.Ability to apply common sense in executing written, verbal, or diagrammatic instructions.Experience with Human Resource systems, Internet software, Payroll systems, Spreadsheet software, and Word Processing software.Knowledge and technical experience with Ceridian / Dayforce software or similar HRIS / ATS systems is highly preferred.PHR or SPHR certification preferred.Additional Skills & Qualifications :
Experience in manufacturing and working with Unionized environments is advantageous.Customer service and HR administration skills are beneficial.Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.Work Environment :
This role requires full-time on-site work at the Detroit manufacturing facility.
Pay and Benefits :
The pay range for this position is $43.07 - $55.30 / hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
