Responsibilities Work in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at a children's hospital and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center May float to PICU or pediatric units if not needed in NICU Day shift schedule : 3x12 hour shifts, 7 : 00 to 19 : 00 Patient ratios range from 1 : 2 to 1 : 4 Float between units and possibly to nearby sister facilities is required PRN weekend coverage and block scheduling required Epic EMR system is used Care for critically ill neonates in an advanced NICU environment Travelers may be required to work holidays and must agree to work at least 3 of 5 major holidays Float assignments are mandatory across associated facilities as needed All RNs must wear navy scrubs Free parking is available in unrestricted spaces and bike racks are accessible Modules must be completed pre-start and annually, with average completion time of 16 hours First time travelers are welcome to apply Requirements Active TX or compact RN license required and must be in hand at time of consideration Minimum of 2 years recent NICU RN experience required BLS and NRP certifications required Experience with Epic EMR required Must provide two supervisory references covering at least one year within the last three years Candidates cannot have permanent residence within 50 miles of the facility for travel pay eligibility Former perm staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler No prior background or Nursys report issues accepted Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-624077.
