Position Summary
We are seeking a dynamic Director, Accounting Advisory - Technology & Automation Practice to lead our rapidly growing technology and automation consulting practice. This senior-level position will drive client engagements focused on robotic process automation (RPA), system integrations, data analytics, and digital transformation initiatives within accounting and finance functions. The successful candidate will combine deep technical accounting expertise with advanced technology skills to deliver transformational solutions for our clients.
Key Responsibilities
Client Delivery & Leadership
- Lead complex client engagements focused on accounting technology transformation, automation implementation, and system integrations
- Serve as the primary client relationship manager for strategic technology transformation projects, interfacing with C-level executives and senior finance leadership
- Design and implement comprehensive automation strategies including RPA, AI-driven analytics, and intelligent document processing solutions
- Oversee end-to-end system implementations including ERP systems (SAP, NetSuite, Oracle), financial reporting platforms, and specialized accounting software
- Lead M&A integration projects involving complex system consolidations, data migrations, and process standardization efforts
Technical Solution Development
Architect and develop automation solutions using RPA tools (UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism) and programming languages (Python, VBA, SQL)Create advanced business intelligence dashboards and reporting solutions using PowerBI, Tableau, Alteryx, and other visualization toolsDesign and implement data integration solutions, APIs, and ETL processes to connect disparate financial systemsDevelop middleware solutions for system integrations and automated data flows between accounting platformsBuild and deploy AI and machine learning solutions for financial data analysis, fraud detection, and predictive analyticsPractice Development & Thought Leadership
Drive business development activities including proposal development, client pursuit efforts, and relationship building with prospective clientsEstablish the firm as a thought leader in accounting automation through speaking engagements, white paper development, and industry participationDevelop proprietary methodologies, intellectual capital, and repeatable solution frameworks for accounting technology implementationsMentor and develop junior staff, fostering technical competencies and professional growth across the practiceCollaborate with other service lines to deliver integrated solutions that address broader finance transformation needsProject Management & Quality Assurance
Manage multiple concurrent projects with budgets ranging from $500K to $5M+, ensuring delivery within scope, timeline, and budget parametersImplement project governance frameworks, risk management protocols, and quality assurance processesLead cross-functional teams of consultants, developers, and subject matter experts to deliver comprehensive solutionsEnsure compliance with regulatory requirements (SOX, GAAP, SEC) and maintain robust internal controls throughout all implementationsRequired Qualifications
Education & Certifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or related field; Master's degree preferredCPA certification required ; CMA, CFA, or other relevant certifications preferredTechnical certifications in RPA platforms (UiPath, Automation Anywhere), cloud technologies (Microsoft Fabric, AWS), or business intelligence tools preferredExperience
Minimum 10-12 years of progressive experience in accounting, finance, or technology consulting5+ years of leadership experience managing teams and complex client engagementsProven track record in finance transformation, system implementations, or automation initiativesExperience with Big 4 accounting firms, major consulting organizations, or Fortune 500 finance departments preferredDemonstrated success in M&A integrations, system consolidations, or large-scale technology deploymentsTechnical Skills
