Position Overview
Alta is seeking a Licensed Environmental or Civil Engineer (P.E.) with strong expertise in drafting, project management, and construction management to join our dynamic team. This role will lead diverse projects across Idaho and neighboring states and play a key part in mentoring junior engineers and technical staff.
We're looking for someone who enjoys the balance of fieldwork, design, and leadershipsomeone ready to make a direct impact on real-world environmental and infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and execute civil / environmental engineering projects from planning through constructionOversee preparation of engineering plans, drawings, technical reports, and permitting documentationProvide quality control and technical review for project deliverablesLead coordination with clients, agencies, and internal teams to meet scope, budget, and timeline requirementsMentor and support the professional development of junior engineers and technical staffConduct field visits and provide construction management oversight as neededEnsure compliance with local, state, and federal regulationsMinimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (Masters preferred)Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Idaho (additional licensure in WA, MT, WY, OR, UT, or NV is a plus)5+ years of relevant engineering experience, including design and construction oversightProficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar drafting softwareExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExperience working with regulatory permitting and environmental complianceValid drivers license and ability to travel to project sitesPreferred Qualifications
Experience with municipal or agency clientsFamiliarity with NEPA, SWPPP, NPDES, or other environmental regulatory frameworksProject management certification or trainingExperience in team leadership or mentorship rolesWhat Alta Offers
