Framing Hope Warehouse
Seasonal Warehouse Assistant
Hours : Monday – Thursday 7am – 5pm
(November & December to include Friday & Saturdays Occasionally past 5pm)
Status : Full Time (Temporary)
Reports to : Operations Supervisor
Purpose :
Under the supervision of the Operations Supervisor, this position provides assistance with the everyday operations of the warehouse. The assistant will perform various activities to ensure that the warehouse runs efficiently.
Duties, Functions and Responsibilities :
- Schedules a date and time with the receiving personnel at each of the assigned donation locations for any donation pick-ups.
- Determine what size vehicle to utilize for deliveries / pick-ups, mindful of fuel and maintenance cost savings.
- Choose an assistant from available individuals (i.e. Youth workers, Volunteer, etc.) to accompany on pick-ups / deliveries, as those require two people.
- Assist in the loading and unloading of trucks and verify the accuracy of shipments.
- Record keeping, sort and mark materials with identifying information, and place materials on racks, shelves or in bins according to predetermined location for display.
- Utilizes material handling equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, 4-wheeled dollies, etc.
- Oversee truck unloading operations to ensure all safety policies and surveillance procedures are followed accordingly.
- Establish and maintain designated work areas and arrange them as needed.
- Always ensure safe and orderly conditions in the warehouse.
- Oversee assigned workers and explain pricing to be marked, as determined by the administration fee schedule. Assistant does NOT determine sales prices.
- Planning and implementing new design layouts for the warehouse, as needed.
- Inspect equipment, perform preventive maintenance inspections.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
- Other duties, as may be assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
Supervisory skillsKnowledge of safety issues, and overall safety management.Requires surveillance skills, inventory control practices, and experience with equipment maintenance.Must possess good judgment, attention to detail, organization skills and have the ability to multi-task effectively.Must be able to work independently or as part of a teamRequires the ability to analyze, read and report various documents.Excellent speaking, listening and communication skills.Qualifications, Education and / or Equivalent Experience :
High School Diploma or GEDTwo years' non-profit experienceCertified forklift training, and on-the-job experienceMust pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening. Random drug screenings are performed.Must have a current NV driver's license and clear DMV record. Driver History Reports will be required to be submitted on a quarterly basis.Working Conditions :
Work is performed in a warehouse environment, with frequent driving required. Will also perform various office / administrative functions. May be subject to sitting, lifting, standing, bending, walking, squatting, pushing and pulling, and simple grasping. Use of mechanical assistance, electric and hand tools is required.
