job_description.job_card.job_descriptionAssist Technical team in increasing production, assess capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards Work directly with operations team in troubleshooting and resolving process issues Ability to learn process flows and production specifications to help drive production efficiencies Monitors operations data and assists in corrective actions to drive operational excellence Helps develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets Identify opportunities to prevent waste and inefficiency in production Ability to learn and create required manufacturing process documentation, including process flow charts, capacity and utilization studies, time and motion studies, standard work, cycle time analysis and line balancing Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gain insight and direction Ensures compliance with health and safety laws, regulations, and guidelines, including EPA and OSHA requirements Majoring in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering preferred Completion of 2 or more semesters in Engineering Interest and general understanding of lean manufacturing principles Proficiency with analytical tools, workflow time study, and process balancing Internship or co-op experience in an operations or manufacturing environment strongly desired Computer literacy Understand, create, and update process flows, including documentation and standard operating procedures Up to 10% travel for meetings or training may be required. Must be able to lift 32-pound bags of litter on an infrequent basis
