Overview
The University Library is hiring a forward-thinking and collegial Learning and Engagement Librarian with an area of focus on assessment. This position is located at Georgia State University’s Perimeter College Clarkston campus.
Responsibilities
- Partner with faculty in teaching and research and engage with students in their first and second years, primarily in developing the information literacy and research skills that support the University’s College to Career Competencies Initiative, such as critical thinking, written / oral communication, digital technology, and global / intracultural fluency. In the area of assessment the librarian manages, collects and analyzes library services data across all campuses in coordination with campus library staff for planning, internal and external reports, and decision making.
- Participate in developing innovative instruction techniques, tools, and assessments
- Participate in student and faculty outreach activities throughout the university
- Provide reference service in-person and online
- Create and maintain multimedia web-based information literacy and instructional materials
- Engage and support the faculty, staff, and students’ research, teaching, and learning needs
- Design and implement assessment initiatives
- Communicate assessment data to stakeholders
- Perform other duties as assigned
Appointment and Benefits
This librarian serves as a member of the library faculty (12-month; non-tenure track), holds faculty rank, and is expected to participate in service activities as outlined in the University Library’s faculty guidelines.
