Responsibilities Position is in an acute care hospital on the Med / Surg Float unit Assignment is for 16 weeks with 12-hour night shifts Patient population includes post-surgical and medical conditions such as total joints, fractures, bariatric surgery, urology, CHF, CVA, and diabetes Patient ratios are 1 : 6 on nights Unit has 61 combined beds and uses Epic EMR CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen equipment used Telemetry monitoring is present, with monitor technicians reading and RNs confirming Floating is required, with float pool staff being first to float Weekend work required every other weekend and holiday coverage every other holiday On-call responsibilities may apply Any scrub color is acceptable for dress code Responsibilities include caring for a diverse medical and post-surgical patient population and confirming telemetry readings Unit is supported by nurse aides with an approximate ratio of 1 aide per 15 patients Unit-specific orientation will be provided, including completion of a float checklist Holiday and weekend shifts are scheduled on an alternating basis Candidates must not have been employed by the associated health system (full time, part time, or PRN) within the past year First time travelers are welcome to apply Requirements Active ND or compact RN license required at the time of consideration Current BLS certification required Minimum of 2 years recent med / surg RN experience required Experience with Epic EMR is preferred Ability to confirm tele strips as required on the unit Must provide two professional references : one supervisor reference from the past 12 months, and one peer or supervisor reference from the past 3 years, including employment dates and rehire eligibility Copy of driver's license required for consideration Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-614007.
