Now Hiring : Electricians (Journeyman & Apprentice) - Commercial Project | Hattiesburg, MS

United Trades of America is expanding its electrical team for a large-scale commercial construction project in Hattiesburg, Mississippi . We have multiple openings for Journeyman Electricians and Electrical Apprentices who are eager to deliver quality workmanship, follow stringent safety practices, and keep fast-moving schedules on track.

Whether you're a seasoned journeyman or an apprentice building your career, this is an excellent chance to work with an established contractor that values skilled tradespeople and rewards reliability.

Key Responsibilities

Journeymen

Interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, and NEC codes to install conduit, wire, panels, lighting, and devices.

Lead small crews or mentor apprentices; ensure tasks are completed safely and on schedule.

Test circuits, troubleshoot faults, and verify system integrity before turnover.

Apprentices

Assist journeymen with pulling wire, bending conduit, setting boxes, and mounting fixtures.

Learn to read plans, measure runs, and assemble hardware to spec.

Maintain clean work areas and uphold all site safety protocols.

Minimum Requirements

Journeyman : 4+ years of commercial electrical experience and proof of journeyman status or equivalency (state card, NCCER, or documented hours).

Apprentice : 2+ years of verifiable electrical experience and willingness to progress through on-the-job training.

Ability to lift 50 lbs, work from ladders / scaffolds, and stand or kneel for extended periods.

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Must provide basic hand tools, OSHA-approved PPE, and pass a drug screen and background check .

Preferred Qualifications

Current OSHA-10 or OSHA-30 certification.

Commercial experience

Familiarity with NEC 2023 updates, EMT bending formulas, and electronic test equipment.

Compensation

Journeyman Electricians : $25 - $31 per hour, depending on experience.

Electrical Apprentices : $18 - $24 per hour, depending on experience.

Per diem is provided (amount TBD)
