Summary :
The Managerial Cost Accountant is responsible for overseeing cost accounting functions, analyzing financial data, and providing actionable insights to support decision-making, cost control, and profitability improvement. This role aids in developing budgets / forecasts and implementing cost allocation models as well as analyzing profitability. The Managerial Cost Accountant works cross-departmentally to obtain appropriate data, gain an understanding of current and future manufacturing process impacts, and align profitability metrics between business units.
What will I do in this role?
- Responsible for various Cost Accounting duties, including but not limited to :
Monitor and analyze fixed and variable manufacturing costs, including inventory, to identify trends, variances, and opportunities.
Prepare, review, and present cost allocation models, margin analysis, and profitability studies.Responsible for various Budgeting & Forecasting duties, including but not limited to :Assist business partners with the preparation of annual budgets, cost projections, and rolling forecasts.
Partner with department leaders to develop and manage cost standards.Provide variance analysis and recommendations.Responsible for various Financial Analysis & Reporting duties, including but not limited to :Analyze product costing, overhead absorption, and cost allocation methodologies.
Support pricing decisions through detailed cost analysis and profitability modeling.Aid in developing dashboards and management reports to support strategic decision-making.Coordinate and support internal and external audits.Collaborates with multiple areas including operations, supply chain, estimating, and accounting to align financial strategy with business goals.Responsible to follow all safety procedures as required by the role, and to nurture a food safety culture by adhering to all Safe Quality Foods requirements.Collaborates and interacts with Manufacturing operations, including frequent floor visits to receive firsthand experience of the manufacturing process.May perform other duties as assigned by managerGreat benefits for the entire family!

Requires education as is generally acquired in four (4) years of college / university education with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred.Minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of progressive cost accounting or financial analysis experience. Manufacturing or production industry experience strongly preferred.Knowledge of and the ability to effectively utilize the English language.Strong knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting principles and financial reporting.Proficiency in ERP / accounting systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365, Oracle, or similar) and advanced Excel skills.Ability to demonstrate strong analytical and problem solving skills.Ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate cross-functional collaboration skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Requires nearly constant concentration and attention to detail.Non-sales job postings are limited to residents in the states of Wisconsin and Arizona only.
