Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Med / Surg Tele position requiring Epic proficiency and a VA or compact RN license.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work on the Med / Surg Telemetry unit with a focus on neurology and stroke patients
  • Night shifts with either 3x12 or 4x12 hour schedules; candidate preference will be considered
  • Weekend, floating, and holiday shifts are part of the contract
  • Patient ratio is 1 : 7
  • Epic is used for charting and Epic proficiency is required
  • Care for adult patients with medical, surgical, and neurological telemetry needs
  • Completion of mandatory pre-start modules is required
  • Facility cannot accommodate PAPR; any prior fit test issues will result in disqualification
  • Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility
  • Holiday coverage may be required within the contract
  • No first-time travelers will be considered

  • Active VA or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
  • American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
  • Minimum of 2 years RN experience and prior travel experience required
  • Proficiency in IV start and telemetry interpretation required
  • Experience caring for neurology and stroke patients is required
  • Must pass EKG testing on first attempt with at least 80%
  • No prior license or background hits permitted
