LIBRARY SYSTEMS & APPLICATIONS DEVELOPER, UC SANTA BARBARA
Reporting to the Library Chief Technology Strategist and Associate CIO, the Library System & Applications Developer will play a key role in enhancing and optimizing the library enterprise systems, including Alma / Primo, Alexandria Digital Research Library, Inter-library Loan, EZproxy, and integration with other campus systems and applications, in order to enable quality service and efficient workflows and meet the needs of our diverse user community. The UCSB Library Unified Resource Management System keeps track of nearly all of the library collections, functions, and workflows. It is heavily relied upon throughout the library, across campus, and the UC system on a daily basis serving our students, faculty, staff and community. The Library System & Applications Developer works with a team primarily responsible for the UCSB Library Unified Resource Management System including, but not limited to, the design, development, modification, debugging, deployment and evaluation of library’s highly complex enterprise software and scripts.
Working closely with the Librarians, Library IT, Enterprise Technology Services, and California Digital Library, will analyze, design, and implement library system infrastructure and user interfaces including the new library search and discovery Primo, to operate and the development, integration and support of a wide array of library systems, applications and services.
Advises the library on library automation industry advances and new developments, trends, and software advances. Serves as technical liaison between other departments and the Library, as well as, between vendors and the Library. Leads the library’s operation of the Unified Resource Management system. Participates and guides the development and revision of library policies and practices as they related to the Unified Resource Management systems and integrations with other enterprise systems.
Serves as the primary administrator for all Primo configuration and integration with library resources.
