POSITION : Evening Cycle InstructorDEPARTMENT : FitnessJOB SUMMARY :Possess current knowledge and necessary specialized skills to consistently lead and instruct a group of individuals with a wide range of fitness levels through an organized and choreographed Cycle class while encouraging members to reach their fitness and wellness goals.
- ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Must be able to instruct at least one group fitness class per week ranging from 5-16 members in attendance.
- Provide a fun, safe and effective workout
- Greet, introduce, and welcome participants to each class
- Work with the Fitness Manager to ensure the needs of the members are being met
- Educate members on proper form to prevent injury and optimize results
- Provide modifications for exercises as needed to meet the needs of members of a variety of ages and fitness levels
- Stay after class to answer questions and interact with members
- Obtain substitute instructors as needed to cover a class, and serve as a sub for classes as available
- Maintain professional standards among clients
These standards include punctuality, proper attire, and the creation and maintenance of a friendly, safe and motivating training relationship
- Maintain a desire for continual education and improvement
- Attend all required meetings and trainings for Fitness staff
- REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Possess outstanding customer service skills
- Excel at building relationships with a variety of individuals
- Have a positive attitude that contributes to a positive team culture
- Must be able to lift 20 pounds
- MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
BS or current student in fitness related field, fitness certified for 1+ years or Cycle Instructor experience for 1+ years
National Certification with ACE, ACSM, Les Mills, NASM, AFAA
- REPORTS TO : Fitness Manager
- SUPERVISES : No supervisory responsibilities
