Job Title :   Mechanical Engineer

Location :   Kansas City, MO

Job Type :   Full-time

Job Overview :

We are seeking a   Mechanical Engineer   to join a dynamic team responsible for mechanical system design in healthcare, higher education, civic, and commercial building projects. The role requires active involvement in all stages of design and construction, coordination with multi-disciplinary teams, and a passion for upholding engineering best practices.

Key Responsibilities :

Execute technical design and quality control for assigned projects

Produce construction documents for new buildings, renovations, and additions

Ensure compliance with mechanical and energy codes

Conduct mechanical system calculations and layouts

Participate in construction administration, site visits, and shop drawing reviews

Research and integrate project-related data

Assist in writing and maintaining project specifications

Update and revise drawings based on QA feedback

Requirements

Must-Haves :

Bachelor’s Degree in Architectural or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program

Minimum of 3 years of relevant engineering experience

Working knowledge of HVAC systems, ductwork, and hydronic design

Experience in healthcare, higher education, or commercial mechanical systems

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Trane Trace, and Revit

Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification

Professional Engineer (PE) license

Valid driver's license and access to an insured personal vehicle

Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills

Requirements

MUST HAVE : Active Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license. Minimum 12 years of technical experience, with no less than 5 years in project management or team leadership. Proven experience leading the design of water and waste water pipelines, force mains, pump stations, lift stations, treatment plants, water supply systems, and solids handling facilities. Strong understanding of current water and waste water regulations. Demonstrated ability to manage project scopes, schedules, and budgets while overseeing design, QA / QC, and project workloads. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and clients. Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. U.S. citizen or permanent resident. Project resume showcasing relevant experience (must be ready to submit). NICE TO HAVE : Familiarity with Central Texas municipalities, including the City of Austin and surrounding agencies. Local project experience in Austin, San Antonio, and other nearby regions.
