Position
Telecom Technician
Position Summary
The Telecom Technician will participate in the installation or maintenance and inspection of telecommunication systems and associated processes.
Position Responsibilities
- Regular attendance at assigned location; may include A / Z office or other project site
- Prepares sketches showing location of wiring and equipment, or follows blueprints, insuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings and flooring
- Installs cable supports, through floor and wall sleeves, fire stopping materials
- Oversees or participates in data cable installations, open wiring, with conduit and on cable trays
- Installs relays racks, cabinets, network switches
- Install cable trays above and below floors
- Ability to work in confined spaces
- Terminates data, voice, coaxial, control and fiber optic cables
- Test cables to TIA / EIA level II standards with cable analyzer
- Perform other routine duties as directed by workplace leader
- Must maintain strict adherence to safety rules and quality
- Participate in site housekeeping
- Additional duties as directed by management
