Job Description

The Plastics Engineer / Technician will support the development, design, and production of plastic materials and components for pipeline integrity systems. This role requires expertise in plastics engineering, molding, and material science, with a focus on ensuring product performance, reliability, and compliance with industry standards. Responsibilities include product design using CAD software, material selection, process design and optimization, and quality assurance. The position will also contribute to research and development of innovative plastics, such as recyclable or biodegradable materials, and provide troubleshooting support for production processes.

Responsibilities

• Create and design plastic components and products, ensuring strength, flexibility, durability, and overall performance
• Utilize CAD software to develop detailed product models and simulations
• Select appropriate plastic materials for applications, balancing cost, environmental impact, and performance requirements
• Develop and refine manufacturing processes such as injection molding, extrusion, and blow molding to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and control costs
• Conduct quality assurance testing to identify defects or inconsistencies and ensure compliance with specifications
• Support research and development of new materials to meet evolving industry needs and environmental standards
• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues in the production process, implementing corrective actions to improve product quality and process reliability
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to integrate plastic solutions into pipeline systems
• Document results, processes, and specifications for accuracy and future improvements
