Position Overview :

The primary responsibilities of the Registered Nurse (RN) are to plan, organize, and provide nursing care to residents according to federal, state and facility regulations and standards and ensure quality care is maintained. The Charge Nurse RN will also supervise Certified Nurse Aides, Certified Medication Aides in their day-to-day nursing activities.

Essential Job Functions :

RNs provide professional nursing care to residents :

RNs observe residents' conditions and charts and report changes or concerns to the appropriate parties :

RNs respond to residents' call for help and determines how to assist them :

RNs work with DON, physicians, Care Plan Team, nursing staff and residents' families to assess residents' needs, plan and modify care and implement interventions :

RNs help residents with activities of daily living (ADLS) and ensure that residents are following diets as directed by physicians :

RNs direct and supervise nursing assistants' day to day functions :

RNs ensure that adequate stock levels of medications and treatment supplies are available to meet the needs of the residents :

RNs maintain work areas in a clean and orderly fashion :

Other Duties Performed by Registered Nurses :

Physical Requirements :

Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and / or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently and / or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly.
