Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist for a diverse acute care role with coverage in inpatient, outpatient, and home care settings; active state license required if applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Work in acute care settings, including inpatient, outpatient, and home care
  • Treat a patient population ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics with diagnoses including ortho, neuro, fall risk, and general weakness
  • Typical caseload varies between 6-10 patients per day depending on area
  • Day shift position, Monday through Friday, 8 : 00 a.m. to 4 : 30 p.m.
  • No weekends or holiday shifts required
  • Use Cerner Community Works for inpatient and outpatient documentation and Kinnser for home health charting
  • Role involves coverage in multiple areas; candidates with specialty in upper extremity OT may be considered without experience in other areas
  • If certified in lymphedema, will still be required to provide general OT treatments
  • Support team includes COTAs who assist with treatments when available
  • Structured orientation provided during the first week followed by a full schedule in the second week
  • Work attire includes black, navy, or royal blue scrubs, or business casual
  • Negative drug screen covering all required panels is mandatory
  • Local rate applies to clinicians residing within 50 miles

    • Requirements

  • Active IL Occupational Therapist license or evidence that licensure application has been initiated (license required if applicable)
  • Minimum of 1 year OT experience required
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Diverse clinical background with ability to work in at least two areas (such as inpatient / home care, inpatient / outpatient ortho, lymphedema, or home care / outpatient ortho)
  • EMR documentation experience preferred, especially with Cerner and Kinnser
